I attended a self-tour art gallery around Westminster's public structures, where it'd tell you where to walk and what the historical significance of the statue was and who did it. It was fairly interesting but I'd like to explore some art galleries that aren't just statues..
With Warren Tech we're constantly going to arts events -- Art Museum, Never Summer factory...next week we're going to the Arvada Center to talk about the murals, and there's also the luncheon for the top 10 Never Summer winners...woot.

This year the first gallery I attended is a small gallery in old Town arvada called the light rail gallery. At the time, it featured a few 3D works and paintings but it was mostly photography. The gallery is small, but the walls are crammed with different pieces and works. It's a fun gallery and I really recommend going to check it out! My second gallery visit was the young masters show. There were several good pieces on display, but I was sad there wasn't more 3D works this year. Overall the gallery was cool, and I like seeing everyone's work. The colored pencil horse by Julia really inspired me to try to have more vivid and impact full color. I also went to the Denver art museum with a friend for her birthday, one of the exhibits that caught my eye was a gallery of traditional photos revolving around Chicago. It was an interesting gallery and I forget how easy it is to spend time the art museum.
I submitted two works to young masters and both got in, the first was Broken Bluebirds (also my day of the dead piece) and a mixed media piece called The Inner Mind.
My first PAH event was the Looking Glass Alive play. Not only was it hilarious but it was one of the most original interpretations of Alice and Wonderland that I've seen.

This year over the summer, me and my family went to Washington D.C., and we saw the national gallery of art. I got to see many of the artist’s work that inspired me to do some of the things that I do with my artwork.

I went to a performance of Looking Glass Alice, along with the rest of the PAH community at the Denver Arts Center. I enjoyed it immensely, and I thought specifically that the most interesting part was the immersion of the experience despite the small group of actors in the cast, and the limited props as well.

As a volunteer this year, I went to both Moore Middle School and spoke about my experience in the PAH program.

I entered pieces into both the Young Masters, and Day of the Dead shows a Pomona, and got pieces into both shows. Also, I sent in a piece to The Scholastic Art Awards, and received a silver key

Enrichment Expectation

This year, I attended the Scholastic art show at the History Colorado Center opening night. I really enjoyed this gallery visit because of all the amazing artwork they had displayed. There was an amazing variety of themes and mediums and all artwork was of the highest quality. Overall the gallery was very impressive.

So far I have attended one event outside of my arts area. We went to Looking Glass Alice at the Denver Arts Center as a PAH community. I absolutely loved this show because of the costumes, acrobatics, and overall production. It was very different than any show I had ever seen.

For my volunteer work, I helped out at the Pomona Showcase at the visual arts table. I had a really nice time talking to both incoming freshmen and their parents about my experience and the arts program in general.

Finally, I did also submit a piece from the Day of the Dead celebration into Young Masters Show.

For my gallery visit I attended the Young Masters show in November at Pomona. I was extremely impressed with this show as I always am because it amazes me the talent that some students have and how deep their pieces can be. The piece I loved the most was the first place winner Bryce Morrisette.

My two events that I attended outside my designated art area was the theater. For in Pomona I attended Through The Looking Glass in the fall and it was absolutely amazing. The different take on the commonly known, Alice In Wonderland, was absolutely amazing and the acrobatics incorporated in it were outstanding. My second was attending a play that my boyfriend mother was in called Rumors. The play was absolutely amazing and was about a man who attempted to self harm while he had all these guest downstairs for his 10th wedding anniversary. progressively throughout the night all the guest beginning to find out but the story keeps changing and then the cops arrive so they have to come up with a whole story on to explain what was going on. This play really amazed me that random people in Colorado are so dedicated after high school to continue their acting and how passionate they are with each of their characters.

My volunteer work for this year included helping set up at the Pomona Showcase for incoming freshmen because I really want other kids to get the amazing experience from PAH like I have.

Finally, I submitted two pieces to the Young Masters show this fall and both got in which I was very happy about.
